Saving through technology, too good to be true?

Sonya Weiser - Thursday, November 24, 2016

So, you’ve been told by a vendor that a new software system, website, or piece of technology is going to save you money. Does it sound too good to be true?

It’s not easy to ensure long-term gains in efficiency really result from implementing new technology and/or systems. And information technology projects are notorious for going over-budget and over-schedule.

Here are some strategies to avoid the traps that I’d like to share with you.

Firstly, only buy what you need.

Sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how tricky it can be to get a clear understanding about what you really need when it comes to information technology.

Do you think you need new technology or software, but want help navigating the often complex and technical world of information technology? I have many years’ experience in the industry and I am here to help. I pride myself on being able to find appropriate solutions for your issues, whilst remaining fiercely independent of other information technology providers.

Secondly, buy from a vendor that you trust.

The Wiser Connections website is a great place to start for a list of trusted vendors! All of our approved suppliers are screened to assure you they are professional and respected, with a good reputation for providing technology systems and services to South Australian businesses.

Drop us a line or chat to one of our consultants today to book a free, no-obligation needs analysis workshop.
