Standup, speak up and persuade

Sonya Weiser - Wednesday, July 18, 2018

Last month I ran a series of successful one-day workshops for the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science, in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Bunbury. I treat presenting at workshops like a performance; it's exhausting but exhilarating. I know the audience appreciated the performance, as I received a round of applause from attendees at the conclusion of the last two workshops! I'm pleased as punch and looking forward to running more workshops in the future.

Communication skills are vital for anyone in business. The ability to stand up, speak up and persuade is crucial to getting yourself heard and your message understood. We are all 'salespeople' when we present to our clients, selling our company and services and most importantly - ourselves.

I've known Sharon Ferrier, Director, Persuasive Presentations, for many years and owe much of my success to her wisdom and guidance. When I was President of the Women in Technology association in South Australia Sharon generously donated her time to present to our mentoring program participants. Sharon's workshops are always entertaining and educational, opening your eyes to simple but effective methods for persuasive communication.

Stand up, speak up & persuade presentation by Sharon Ferrier

Sharon's running a one-day workshop in August, which I highly commend to you if you want to learn skills and resources to successfully deliver your next presentation.

What will the workshop cover?

  Managing your nerves
  Defining your presentation objectives
  Researching your audience
Structuring your presentation so it is easy to follow
  Developing your topic
The 5 steps for a persuasive presentation
Posture and gestures to increase your credibility
Using your voice to maintain interest and be memorable
  How to use notes effectively
How to think on your feet

Today, more than ever, we need to be able to stand up, speak up and persuade. This workshop is limited to 8 participants only. Don't miss out!
